Barely Contained

"Okay!" My art teacher said "I want you to go out and trace stains on the ground or walls, then use those shapes to make an abstract piece on matte acetate! No burning, blowing up, or bodily fluids! Have fun!"

So I traced the stains of spilled coffee and bird crap, then saw continents... then I remembered playing risk during a power outage (and my roommate causing the following rule to be added; If you drop pie on your pieces, it counts as a pestilence and that territory is up for grabs/ does not count toward armies.)and started coloring them in in that maner...

Then thought about how cities can drastically change the landscape, especially those with ports and harbours...

And then I thought it looked more like man-make stuff trying to contains spills of something else all together...

And when this organic color meets up, who knows what it will do, but the structures are failing and nature cannot be contained...

And I discovered about five seconds into the inking that I can't draw straight lines Or right angles...

The colors are drawn with Prismacolor pencils on one piece of MA, and the lines are drawn with fine-point sharpie on another, to give it a covered effect. it's photographed on a window with the light coming from behind.
