Elliot in Full Armour

Elliot J. Eliott is an experiment of mine to create a very atypical hero for a sci-fi/ mystery story. More on her personality and history later.

Elliot is actually quite frail most of the time, and can't carry much so her suit is as light as possible while being prepared for as much as possible.

1. Nano-Suit

The rubber-looking body suit is made of semi-intelligent nano-fibers and protects her from almost all the elements by constantly adjusting it's structure and diffusing energy. It's effectively immune to blaster bolts, blows from blunt objects, toxic or absent atmosphere, insanely high falls, extreme temperature conditions, most bladed weapons, and fire (Very Important!). It isn't worth crap against the psuedo-magical forces of her universe, certain kinds of electrified and magnetic weapons, and will only briefly stand up to strong acids or bases.

2. The Flight-Pack

Jet packs are heavy, quickly run out of fuel and have a nasty habit of exploding while very close to important organs. hence, Elliot wears a combination of retractable wings and a battery-operated wind turbine. for initial liftoff, it provides a quick current out of the central column (not visible- more notes and drawing later if you like.), then, a pair of bird-like wings extend and allow the her to fly, with lift and thrust occasionally provided by the turbine. when she glides, the air passing through the turbine charges the super-compact, efficient battery; providing the power for the next liftoff. Much lighter, no fuel and no explosions.

3. The Helmet

The nano-suit covers most of Elliot's head, so the helmet is more for data-gathering and manipulation than protection. the slots and head-phone-looking pieces on the sides gather atmospheric and spatial information and relay it to the nano-suit and flight-pack for them to react appropriately. The slots on the front of helmet act as a speaker. It and the glassy surface can project any sounds or visuals she chooses, including any voice or face she wishes people to believe she is. the extensive face-plate is designed for maximum visibility during horizontal flight or tunnel-crawling.

4. Weapons

Elliot religiously believes in backup plans. Often she abandons her initial plans in favor of a backup plan because it's faster/easier/funnier that the original. Hence, she carries a variety of weapons to suit any occasion: blasters (weighted for pistol-whipping), convertible laser blade/whip/pipe-bomb, assorted knives, smoke/poison/stink bombs, assorted plastic explosives, taser, ductape, collapsible ten-foot-pole, and matches.

5. Runes

While most of the pseudo-magic users in this universe control their powers through intense training and mental techniques, Elliot never received any such guidance and is slowly loosing her mind to it. however, she's gotten very adept at using the ancient technique of rune-writing (which was abandoned because it was inefficient, and often led to so-called "perversions of nature") to direct her powers and keep a lid on the madness. because she's the allegedly only practitioner, she can do things that other users can't. the runes visible allow her to be engulfed in flames (left hand), heal minor wounds (right hand) and slide past the notice of anyone looking for her (inside the jacket).

6. Clothes

The loose pants and jacket allow for freedom of movement while hiding an assortment of supplies. the stark yellow and black actually provides great camouflage in her usual stalking grounds- night time in a large industrial city. she blends in nicely with the neon lights, and can pass for any two-bit punk who thinks they're and edgy bad-ass because they dress in lots of black accented with a primary color.
