Tranformative Homework by Allison-beriyani Tranformative Homework by Allison-beriyani
I found an old compositional sketch for a school assignment, and decided to finish it.
This version is only 9x12, and I have no idea what I actually ended up doing for that class.

The bird is a New Caledonian Crow [link] one of my top species to be declared people in my lifetime.

Crooooooooooow! Now you have the ability to fry around and annoy people! Also your presence itself will settle in with the creepy crawly mood setting! win win. I'm also pretty sure you can still use a computer....

I can peck and hold down the shift keys with toes.
But I'm too cool to set a creepy mood.

Yes. Even if I think that would get tiring after a while.
Hmm, perhaps if you put on some nice colorful hat you would set a happy happy mood?

I seriously need to get to the south pacific, if only to meet one of them.
I wonder what it would take to get them declared a 'People"?

It would be fantastic to meet one of those crows. I would have loved to have met a NZ Raven but they are extinct sadly.

They'd probably will be when they use their bits of wire to make and create weapons of war and attack humanity in a pre-emptive strike. And maybe not even then.

I drew this back when I was still your roommate, actually- I was wondering if you remembered it, but there's a good chance I never showed you.

Morphologically, I was torn between having the toes fuse, or the two outer ones disappear (which is more anatomically accurate, but looked really gross on paper). Crows have four toes on each foot, but the hind toe is actually an extended ankle bone with a nail.

I've only done one transforming piece and I thought it was quite hard. So what you've done here looks great.

Find similar structures, extend or shrink as necessary.
if there's an absence of similar structures, then it gets tough.
So it's easier to turn a Goldfish into Batman than into a coffee pot, because both Batman and the gold fish have spines and shoulder/pelvic girdles.

Thanks for the tip.

BTW I now want to see goldfish to Batman.
